Genoptix looks deep into blood and tissue to diagnose cancer and other disorders. The specialized laboratory service provider analyzes blood, bone marrow, tumors, and lymph node samples in order to diagnose, monitor, and track diseases such as leukemia, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer. Its service offerings include COMPASS for hematology (blood testing for condition diagnosis and condition monitoring) and NexCourse for the evaluation of solid tumors to predict patient response to different treatments. Genoptix is owned by Novartis. A management group in partnership with private equity firms Ampersand Capital and 1315 Capital is buying the commercial lab operations of Genoptix. Novartis will retain Genoptix's BioPharma business.
