Hotel manager Hersha Hospitality Management (HHM) lets someone else worry about paying the mortgage. Rather than own hotel real estate, HHM provides management services for more than 80 upscale, midscale, and extended-stay hotels under such brands as Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental's Holiday Inn, Marriott, and Sheraton. Most of its properties are located along the Eastern Seaboard, and the company provides all of the administrative, financial, operational, and sales and marketing functions for its properties. HHM was founded by Hersha Hospitality Trust, a real estate investment trust (REIT), but is jointly owned by Hersha Hospitality Trust executives, Starwood Capital, and other investors.
