Mar-Jac Poultry, Inc.

From farm to table, Mar-Jac Poultry's business is "poultry in motion." The company is one of the major processors of chicken sold to the domestic fast-food restaurant and foodservice market. Its operations include a hatchery to raise birds and a feed mill that churns 8,500 tons of feed a week for some 200 farmers in Georgia who contract with the company to grow its chicks and broilers. Mar-Jac's plant processes about two million chickens a week, which are vacuum-packed in its cold storage facility prior to shipment to mostly local distributors in the US, and some international export customers. Mar-Jac was started by brothers Marvin and Jackson McKibbon in 1954, and later acquired by a group of poultry farmers.
