It's not that Heico Ohmite is passive, but it may be resistant to change. The company makes wirewound, thick film, and ceramic resistors for high energy, high voltage, and high current applications. It also makes variable voltage controls and heat sinks, but has discontinued its inductor and audio indicator product lines. Distributors such as Allied Electronics, Digi-Key, Richardson Electronics, Newark InOne, Sager Electronics, and TTI carry Heico Ohmite's products, which are used in the aerospace, industrial, medical, and military industries. Established in 1925, the company has a manufacturing plant in Mexico. Heico Companies, which buys distressed firms, acquired the former Ohmite Manufacturing in 1998.
